Education on the Planet Bambi Health Campus – with VisionAction Shaping the future
Health is more than the absence of illness. It arises from the interplay of body, mind, community, and environment. With our educational approach "VisionAktion," we create a space where children, young people, and families can experience and understand precisely this: how health comes alive through the combination of nutrition, exercise, nature experiences, and social interaction.
VisionAction is the educational program of the Planet Bambi Foundation. It is based on a dual concept: knowledge is conveyed vividly through films and then directly experienced in practical workshops. We combine media stimuli with direct experience. This creates profound learning that touches, anchors, and moves.
In practice, this means: Children watch an age-appropriate film that demonstrates how the natural food cycle works. They then gather herbs in the forest, harvest vegetables in the garden, cook over a fire, or process grains. They balance on tree trunks, play movement games in the forest, and learn how important physical activity is for health. They work together, discuss their experiences, create creatively, and discover their own strengths.
The VisionAktion workshops are based on the four central health dimensions:
Nutrition, exercise, social interaction, and connection to nature. These themes permeate all programs and are intertwined. This way, children experience health not as an abstract concept, but as a living, sensory quality that they can help shape.
Our goal is to create a model health learning center on the Planet Bambi Campus in Thannhausen. A covered forest workshop, a permaculture garden, exercise landscapes, a forest kitchen, a film barn, and numerous hands-on stations will be gradually created. Schools, families, and groups will be able to visit this place to learn, laugh, marvel, and grow healthily together.
We're taking education a step further: VisionAktion is also intended to be available on mobile devices and digitally. With portable workshop kits, online materials for teachers, and project ideas for the schoolyard, we want to bring the concept to places where access to nature and healthy education is lacking. The experiences on campus form the vibrant centerpiece of this.
