HEALTH AS A HOLISTIC CONCEPT

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health promotion aims to enable all people to exercise greater self-determination over their health and thus empower them to improve their health. Health thus represents a positive concept that emphasizes the importance of social and individual resources for health, as well as physical abilities.

Health includes physical and mental well-being, a balanced diet, sufficient exercise, access to medical care, a supportive social environment, and regular experiences in nature.

HEALTH CAMPUS

The visionary form of health

Our focus is on people, especially children and young people. Our goal: to engage them with the best possible educational opportunities and encourage them to think holistically. Why? Only those who deeply know and value themselves and their environment can take care of their health.

Our vision is to positively change social attitudes and behaviors through education and the promotion of mindfulness.

Firstly, we make the knowledge available online in our learning management system. This allows everyone to learn at their own pace, regardless of time and place, and repeat it as often as they like. Secondly, we offer the opportunity to work together on topics, practice, and acquire practical knowledge in direct contact with nature in our on-site park.

Every little clue fits together to form a larger puzzle of humanity, nature, and technology. Online with our digital learning platform and outdoors in our green classroom.

A green classroom in Thannhausen

The aim is to offer children, young people and those who are young at heart a “barrier-free green classroom” with areas for learning, regenerating and training in our training course.

The "Green Classroom" can be used not only for research, but also for science or art classes during the various growing seasons, thus creating a special learning environment.
The diverse teaching options are to be seen as a supplement, but also as a stimulus to the traditional school curriculum.

AForest GardenIt consists of predominantly edible plants, some of which overlap in several vegetation layers. It's very similar to the structure of forests. These layers consist of fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, as well as vegetables and herbs that can be cultivated and harvested together over time. It promotes biodiversity in the garden by creating diverse habitats for a wide variety of animal and plant species. This diversity ensures that a wide variety of fruits and vegetables can be harvested at any time – there's always something ripening!

In addition to its culinary and healing properties, the forest garden offers beautiful shady spots where you can meet to experience, work, or relax... A place of relaxing, mindful, and respectful encounters between people, animals, and nature.

A forest garden is simultaneously a source of healthy food, a provider of building materials and a pharmacy.

A multi-talent

So diverse and useful: the social component combines biodiversity conservation, food and habitat for insects and soil organisms, carbon reduction, and water conservation through humus buildup. Furthermore, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced through regional production of fruit, vegetables, herbs, and nuts.

Status Quo

These days, visitors are surprised when they enter the Planet Bambi grounds through the main entrance. At first glance, it's become more open. Some areas are being redesigned. As preliminary work, the former fences of the deer families have been removed. As a compensatory measure, reforestation is planned: chestnut trees, nut trees, fruit trees, shrubs, ground cover...

The planning

The forest garden is modeled on nature. It consists of seven edible layers, essentially three: the tree layer, the shrub layer, and the herb layer. The varying heights of the vegetation layers create optimal light conditions for all plants. The goal of a forest garden is to recreate a natural forest that regulates itself over time, thus providing a lot of enjoyment and relatively little work.
